The process of issuing fatwas has gone through several stages: oral, written, audio, visual, and electronic. Despite the diversity of communication methods, fatwas have always been issued by qualified scholars, either individually or collectively. The use of technology and software is considered part of God\u2019s provision of the resources of the heavens and the earth to serve humanity and facilitate the fulfillment of its material and intellectual needs, as well as the pursuit of knowledge. Artificial intelligence (AI) is among the most significant and recent contributions of the information and digital communication era, and it has been employed in most fields of knowledge and practical life. Hence, interest has grown in exploring the potential use of AI in the domain of fatwa issuance, given the vital role of fatwas in guiding Muslim behavior and regulating actions in accordance with Islamic law. The challenge here lies not in the means of communication but in the authority issuing the fatwa\u2014namely, the technology itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lecture discusses the definition of the fatwa concept through AI, the juristic framework for employing AI in fatwa production and determining its legal rulings and ethical guidelines, as well as presenting practical case studies of AI-based fatwa applications and conducting an applied experiment on fatwa issuance using the (ChatGPT) application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Taha Ahmed Hameed Al-Zaidi<\/strong> is a distinguished Iraqi scholar and academic who combines expertise in both Islamic jurisprudence and media studies. He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Sciences \u2013 Comparative Fiqh specialization<\/strong>, and a Ph.D. in Media \u2013 Islamic Media specialization<\/strong>, in addition to possessing general and specialized certifications (Ijazat)<\/strong> in both the transmitted and rational Islamic sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Al-Zaidi serves as an Assistant Professor of Comparative Fiqh<\/strong> and is the President of Al-Baseera Association for Research and Media Development<\/strong>. He is also a member of the Supreme Council and the Fatwa Committee of the Iraqi Fiqh Academy<\/strong>, as well as Head of the Scientific Department and the Fatwa Division<\/strong>. In addition, he teaches at Imam Al-Azam University College<\/strong> and works as a religious and media consultant<\/strong>. He is the Vice President of the International Association for Purposeful Visual Media<\/strong>, Chairman of the Higher Advisory Board of the \u201cArid\u201d International Platform (Malaysia)<\/strong>, and Editor-in-Chief<\/strong> of both Al-Haqa\u2019iq Journal<\/em> and Majallat Risalat Al-Mujamma<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Al-Zaidi has chaired nine international scientific conferences<\/strong> and participated in dozens of local and international academic events<\/strong>. He has delivered numerous scholarly and media lectures<\/strong>, and has produced and presented several radio and television programs<\/strong>. He has published around 92 research papers and scholarly articles<\/strong> in Iraqi and Arab academic journals and authored more than 46 published books<\/strong> in the fields of jurisprudence, thought, and media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
